Clifford, the big red dog, as some of us know him is a character that many of us and our children have fallen in love with over the years. He always brings big adventure to books and television. In 2004 his animated film, “Clifford’s Really Big movie,” allowed us to see some of his big adventures on the movie screen. Now that same popular animated film will premier this Friday, December 14th on PBS Kids. Check your local listings for the exact time.
As a teacher, the Clifford books have been favorites of mine for over 11 years. He’s always a big hit with my students and he always assist me with teaching a new lesson. Clifford turns 50 in February 2013 and the folks over at Scholastic are celebrating with so many fun activites, games and events. The animated movie takes children and their families on Clifford’s biggest adventure yet, a rollicking cross-country road trip starring everyone’s favorite Big Red Dog and his best friends Cleo, T-Bone and an entirely new cast of characters. The animated film was originally released in 2004 by Warner Brothers and features the late John Ritter as the voice of Clifford as well as Wayne Brady, Jenna Elfman and John Goodman. A Scholastic Entertainment production, the cast also includes Grey Delisle (What’s New Scooby-Doo), Jess Harnell (Lilo and Stitch), Kel Mitchell (Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle), Judge Reinhold (Beverly Hills Cop III), Kath Soucie (Rugrats Go Wild), Cree Summer (A Different World), and Wilmer Valderrama (That 70’s Show).

This is my first time hearing about Clifford! We’re just starting to enter the cartoon era. Trying to limit it but at times it’s the only medicine..ha. Clifford sounds like he’s quite well known and something I should check out for Maddie. Love the graphics!

Oh, Clifford is a fun series to follow either through books or television series. He’s great for the toddler/preschool age. And he’s always teaching a life lesson. I hope you enjoy him once you decide to introduce him to Maddie.
