The Fourth of July means that summer has officially arrived and is ready to be celebrated! What better way to cool off in this heat than with fruit and fruit-filled dishes in all shades of red, white and blue? If you’re looking for a cool dessert idea that you can make with your kids, check out the recipe below for Red, White and Blue Fun Days Sundaes:
Ingredients:
• 1 small banana
• 1 cup strawberries
• 1 cup blueberries
• 1 cup low-fat or non-fat vanilla yogurt
• Crushed cereal (optional)
• Crushed nuts (optional)
1) Peel and slice the banana. Your child can help you by using a butter knife.
2) Wash the strawberries. Slice the strawberries. Your child can help you by using a butter knife.
3) Wash the blueberries.
4) Put some sliced strawberry pieces in the bottom of a bowl or cup.
5) Spread a few spoonfuls of yogurt over the strawberry pieces.
6) Put a few spoonfuls of blueberries on top of the yogurt.
7) Spoon yogurt over the blueberries.
8) Top with sliced bananas and another layer of yogurt
9) Top with crushed cereal or nuts, if desired. Enjoy!
