Healthy Family New Year’s Resolution by So family
This year, instead of pursuing your new Year's resolution on your own, think about setting a family goal. Making a healthy family New Year’s resolution can be a great way to meet the New Year as a family.
There are few better goals than wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. But if you’re going to pursue this goal as a family, then you’ll have to get them on board with your healthy family New Year’s resolution early on. Talk to your spouse about pursuing better health as a family. Once your spouse is on board, you can talk to the kids and explain why you’ll all be pursuing better health as a family. And don’t forget to emphasize that this resolution can include plenty of fun family time together, instead of each individual trying to attain better health on his own.
When explaining your healthy family New Year’s resolution to your family, be sure to remind them that the goal is improved overall health, not just losing weight to look better. Too many people, including kids, don’t seem to know the difference between getting healthy and losing weight. While you may certainly lose weight as a result of a healthier lifestyle, it shouldn’t be the primary goal, especially if you have adolescent children who are on the heavier side. You want to pursue a goal as a family, not ostracize one family member for being overweight.
And if you’re going to succeed in keeping your healthy family New Year’s resolution, then you’ll need to form a plan of attack before January 1st. You’ll need to discuss an exercise regimen and a healthy diet with your family. You should purchase any exercise equipment you may need in order to pursue your goal. You should start stocking up on healthy recipes to cook for your family. And you should use the time to get everyone in your family excited about pursuing this goal together. By pursuing this goal as a family, you’ll improve your health and your relationships with one another.

New Years resolutions are hard to keep, so making a goal is a much better idea! I have made it a goal of my own to get healthy, but I should do it with my whole family and not just myself. I think I will change my goal!
Thanks for the tip!
