From KaBoom.org News March 26, 2010 It’s a special day for residents in Inglewood, Los Angeles. First, they get to meet Reverend Run, hip-hop pioneer and star of MTV’s ‘Run’s House’; his wife, Justine Simmons; and their children, including ‘Daddy’s Girls’ stars and pastry founders, Vanessa and Angela Simmons.
Second, they’re getting a new playground!
As part of our joint initiative to get kids moving, KaBOOM! and Kool-Aid are partnering with Reverend Run and his family, the City of Inglewood, volunteers and mom bloggers from across the country to give 100,000 children a new place to play.
The new Inglewood playground is part of an initiative with a twofold purpose: to promote the importance of children getting out to play and to remind parents to encourage their kids to do so. Since June 2008, KaBOOM! and Kool-Aid have joined forces to build 26 playgrounds, serving more than 300,000 children in more than 20 cities across the country.
