The Food and Drug Administration tested a batch of the lotion and found that it c obtained more of a bacteria, that is naturally-occurring, than is allowed. The company has immediately recalled about 2,200 bottles of the lotion with the lot number 0161LK. The bottles have been recalled from stores across the southern states.
It has been reported that the product was sold across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
The identified bacteria is called coagulase-negative Staphylococci, which naturally occurs in the environment. The amount that was found in the batch of lotion was not revealed by johnson and Johnson. However, the company noted that the chance of health being affected is small. This is a common bacteria, but certain amounts of it can lead to some health problems, such as nervous system or urinary tract infections.
