Family Fun in the Snow Ideas & Tips by Monica J
Many families across the country experienced a Holiday blizzard, so I had to talk about having a little fun in this beautiful winter weather. Instead of staying snowed in, bundle the kids up and get outside . Make sure everyone is properly dressed and prepared with hats, gloves, scarves and boots.  Playing in the snow is one of the best parts of a white winter.  Kids playing outside has many benefits, but there are also dangers when it's very cold.  Please make sure the kids are warm and supervise their play.

Have some snow fun in your own backyard or on what was the grass and sidewalk.  I've put together a quick list of activities to play in the snow. Please add your own games in the comment section. Tell us how your family enjoys the snow?

Build a Snowman

Start rolling the snow into large balls for your snowman.  Make sure you have three different sized balls.  Let the kids find accessories to put on the snowman.  You can use some outside accessories, sticks and rocks or go inside and get an old hat, buttons, boots and anything you can find.  Get creative with this one.  Don't forget to take lots of pictures.

Snow Shapes

Do you have any cookie cutters or tupperware containers?  These kitchen items are great for making shapes in the snow.  Again, let your creativity run wild with this activity.

Snow Colors

It's back to the kitchen for some supplies.  Get a few spray bottles and fill them with water and food coloring.  Once they're filled up allow the kids to spray away in the snow.  Watch as their creative artistic side comes out.  Their master pieces will look fabulous in pictures, so take a ton.
