Fun Family Christmas Games     by So family

In many households all of the excitement of Christmas is enjoyed in the morning hours. By the afternoon many families play with gifts, lay around or watch all of the classic movies they play on television all day. This Christmas you can keep the excitement going with some good old family games. Gather the whole family, get creative and have a little fun together. If you have family visiting, even better, because the more the merrier.

We found a few games for the entire family, including the kids. Take your pick or share your favorite family game. Have fun and enjoy your day.

1. Christmas Wrapping Game - This is a classic game that can be loads of fun. You will need a lot of wrapping paper, scissors, tape and a box for each participant (boxes must be same size). Make it even more exciting by using the used wrapping paper from the morning.

Depending on how many players you have, you can divide the players into team. All of the supplies must be on a table or on the floor away from all of the teams. When the game starts, one player from each team has to run up and wrap their gift using new wrapping paper or scraps and then return to their team. The first team to finish wrapping all of their gifts is the winner. Good luck!

2. Freeze (with Christmas Music) - You need a Christmas cd.

Begin playing music. Everyone playing must move and dance until the music stops. When the music stops the players must freeze. Anyone who is caught moving is out of the game. Continue playing until there's one player left. Have fun moving!

3.  Christmas Charades - This game is an old favorite with a Christmas theme.  You need a group of family members to play.  You can separate the group into teams of 3-5 people.  Make a list of words or phrases to use for your game.  You can find ideas online.  You decide if each team gets a point once they get the word correct.  Set a specific time 2-4 minutes that each team gets to guess a word.  The team that gets 10 points first is the winner.

Each player on the team takes a turn acting out a Christmas word or phrase (No talking allowed).  The teammates must guess the word or phrase through their teammates acting.
