Craft Saturday: How to Make Candy Trains

Holiday Candy Trains Add a Sweet Decoration for Your Holiday Table

I recently fell in love with this holiday craft when a friend of mine emailed it to me. It's a sweet way to add unique decorations to your holiday celebration. These cute candy trains also make great stocking stuffers and ornaments. Candy is a favorite of many, so why not get your creative hands moving fast on this holiday craft. Let the kids help with shopping for the candy and of course with putting it all together. Hope you enjoy this craft. I'll be making a few this weekend for my holiday celebration. If they come out good, I'll post them for you all to see. Happy crafting!

*These directions are for making 1 train car. Please add more candy if you'd like to make a long train.

*Please feel free to be creative and place the candy where you'd like

Things You'll Need:

1 roll of Lifesavers Candy

1 small package of gum

1 chocolate rollo Candy

1 Hershey's Kiss

1 mini Hershey's chocolate bar

1 Starburst candy

4 Round peppermint candies

Fancy string or Ribbon for the ornament hanger (optional)

Low temp. hot glue gun

Putting it All Together:

*Use the hot glue gun to make all candy stick into place

1. If you're making an ornament tie the ribbon into a loop around the Lifesavers package.

2. Glue roll of Lifesavers candy on top of the package of gum (with ribbon loop in between, if making ornament)

3. Glue 4 peppermint candies onto the package of gum (making wheels)

4. Glue the Hershey's Kiss on the end of the Lifesavers package to make the train smokestack (flat side up or whatever you prefer)

5. On the other end of the Lifesavers package glue a Rollo candy to make the engineer's room and then glue a small candy (Starburst) on top of the Rollo candy for the roof.

6. Place the Mini Hershey's bar on the back end of the Candy Train.

i luv this craft too! such a neat and crafty idea, kids can play with it and eat it too...not sure about eating all of it though. it'd be neat if they could link up to make a long train.
