Below are a few ideas that you and your family can do this holiday weekend. If you don't celebrate the holiday then just use these ideas for a fun family weekend. Enjoy!
1. Barbecue!!! Enjoy the weekend with an end of the summer/back to school barbecue. Run to the supermarket invite a few friends over, let the kids help set-up and enjoy.
2. It's Park Time! Take the family out to the neighborhood park. Pack an afternoon lunch and a cooler of water and juice. Bring along a couple of balls, a frisbee, jump ropes and anything else you can think of to have fun. Don't forget the blanket for the grass (unless your family prefers the park benches).
3. New Movie Releases! Plan for a family movie night at home or at the movie theater. Whether you choose the theater or the home television this movie night, don't forget the snacks.
4. Explore a Museum! Get out to one of your favorite museums or one that you haven't visited. Take a self-guided tour, visit the exhibitions (especially the interactive ones), take a seat in the museum theatre or take part in the hands-on activities.
5. Local Activities/Festivals! Read your local paper, visit a city website or ask around town what festivals or activities are happening this weekend. Most city and local festivals free or have free activities. Pack a bag with your families essentials, snacks and get moving.
